Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

Benjamin Alire Saenz

Aristotle is an angry teen with a brother in prison. Dante is a know-it-all who has an unusual way of looking at the world. When they meet at the swimming pool, they seem to have nothing in common. But as the two loners start spending time together, they discover that they share a special kind of friendship – the kind of friendship that changes lives and lasts a lifetime. And it is through their friendship that Ari and Dante will learn the most important truths about themselves – and about the kind of people they want to be.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it was honestly beautiful. The connection between aristotle and dante was stunningly written, it made it feel real. It is written entirely from aristotle’s perspective, which I found interesting, the fact that we never saw dante’s point of view was almost a commentary on his presence in aristotle’s life and his impact on aristotle. This book genuinely made me feel something, and I would 100% recommend it to someone else.

“A heart-warming and delicate story about love – not only the deepening love between two friends, but a story of loving family, community and oneself. Beautiful.”
